Real Madrid continues to shape the new era under Xabi Alonso's leadership. Following the recent confirmation of Dean Huijsen's arrival, the Chamartín club officially announced the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold this Friday. The English full-back, whose contract with Liverpool was set to expire on June 30, will be linked to Real Madrid for the next six seasons, from June 1, 2025, to June 30, 2031. Consequently, he will be eligible to participate in the Club World Cup.
Alexander-Arnold joins Real Madrid to compete with Dani Carvajal, the established right-back since his return to Chamartín in the summer of 2013. Carvajal's tenure is marked by a series of successes, notably the six Champions League titles he shares with Paco Gento, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Nacho Fernández, setting an unparalleled record in Europe's premier competition.
From now on, Carvajal will face stiff competition from Alexander-Arnold, one of the world's most esteemed full-backs. He arrives at Real Madrid after securing nine titles with Liverpool: one Champions League, one Club World Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups, and one Community Shield.
