New Top-of-the-Range VX-L Trim for the Toyota Land Cruiser

The arrival of the new Land Cruiser 250 marks the continuation of a successful off-road legacy, which this new generation is already achieving in Spain. Now, alongside the VX trim, the new VX-L trim is introduced, combining robustness, technology, and advanced features.

The VX-L trim will replace the "First Edition" as the top-of-the-range trim in the Land Cruiser 250 and comes with several updates and changes that enhance both interior and exterior equipment compared to its predecessor. This new trim features new 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and leather upholstery available in two colours with heated and ventilated rear seats.

Additionally, the VX-L trim will make driving more comfortable thanks to lumbar adjustment in the driver's seat and a digital rear-view mirror. It also introduces the novelty of disconnecting the front stabiliser bar and a 10.6-inch Head-up Display. Finally, driving will be more entertaining as it incorporates a premium JBL audio system with 14 speakers.

On the other hand, the VX trim aesthetically features smaller 18-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, and synthetic leather upholstery. The VX-L has the novelty of being available in the exclusive Tottori Yellow colour of the First Edition, and, moreover, you can choose between two colour options for the leather upholstery: chestnut brown or black.

The "First Edition" trim, in its online reservation phase with 250 units, sold out in less than 7 hours. It was presented in two colours: Tottori Yellow Bi-tone and Oasis Blue Bi-tone.

The new generation of Land Cruiser is a model that reaches new heights of off-road performance, supported by its new GA-F platform and chassis. This structure provides the vehicle with substantially superior strength and rigidity, achieved through a combination of specific construction techniques; excellent functionality for transporting passengers and cargo; improved driver visibility, and superior simplicity, with components designed to be easily repaired or replaced with customised elements. It merges the stylistic legacy of the Land Cruiser with an elegant, contemporary, timeless image, conveying solidity.

Aerodynamic details have been included to improve handling stability, braking, engine cooling, and air passage management. Similarly, the cabin conveys a functional and durable high-quality feel, maintaining the disconnectable stabiliser bar (SDM) and a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine.

In Spain, the new Land Cruiser range offers seven-seat interiors and generous cargo space. It is powered by a redesigned 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine with 205 DIN hp / 151 kW, combined with a new eight-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission. With a maximum torque of 500 Nm generated between 1,600 and 2,800 rpm, it has the power to tow loads of up to 3,500 kg.

The official WLTP combined cycle figures for fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are 10.5 – 10.7 l/100 km, depending on the version, and 275-281 g/m, respectively. The new generation chassis, part of Toyota's new global architecture GA-F platform, is the foundation of the vehicle's firmness and rigidity, while the sophisticated Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) system and Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM) function offer greater assistance in tackling adverse conditions.

This is the first Land Cruiser model to feature an Electric Power Steering (EPS) system. This mechanism reduces the movements that can be experienced when driving on challenging surfaces and offers smoother and more direct steering, as well as greater manoeuvrability at any speed. Another novelty is the front stabiliser bar disconnection system, which increases suspension travel and helps tackle rocky surfaces. A new braking system, a new front suspension with a double wishbone system, a revised rear axle, and a renewed Crawl Control system also contribute to its handling agility.

The VX-L will be available from €95,000, or for just €594/month with Toyota Easy Plus, a financing programme that includes 4 years of maintenance and 4 years of warranty. Meanwhile, the VX, already on the market, starts at a price of €85,450, or for €560/month with Toyota Easy Plus. Spain remains the main market for the Land Cruiser in Europe with over 1,800 orders accumulated in 2024, with more than 700 units of the new Land Cruiser 250 delivered this year.

Additionally, thanks to Toyota's Multitechnology strategy, at least 500 more units are expected to be delivered next year, and by the end of 2025, the Land Cruiser's powertrain will be updated with the 48V MHEV version, which will combine the 2.8-litre diesel engine with a 48V electric motor-generator, a compact 48V lithium-ion battery, and a start-stop system.
