The Rallye La Nucía-Mediterráneo 'Costa Blanca Trophy', promoted by the Alicante Provincial Council, has canceled all ceremonies and social events scheduled in its program as a sign of mourning for the victims and solidarity with those affected by the devastating catastrophe suffered in the province of Valencia and other parts of Spain.
The route of the 30th edition includes eleven stages and 127 timed kilometers. This event, which will take place from this Thursday until Saturday, November 9, will be the penultimate scoring event for the 2024 Spanish Asphalt Rally Super Championship (CERA).
The Sports Deputy and Mayor of La Nucía, Bernabé Cano, has confirmed that, in light of the terrible tragedy suffered in the province of Valencia, the organization has decided to cancel all social events around the Rallye and maintain only the sporting event, out of respect for the teams, workers, and personnel involved, who have been preparing for this meeting for months.
The best drivers from the national and international scene will gather at this sporting event, with which the Provincial Council has collaborated for years, "for its great economic return, as well as its media impact and for being an excellent platform from which to promote tourism in the interior of our province," stated Bernabé Cano.
The 30th Rallye 'Costa Blanca Trophy' will run this time through thirty municipalities in the interior of the province, with a total of 500 kilometers, of which 127 will be competitive.
The event will start this Thursday with a departure from La Nucía, and participants will face the Callosa d'Ensarrià stage. On Saturday, with the same starting point, drivers will tackle the asphalt of Castells-Famorca, Fageca, and Qatretondeta, continuing with Tollos-Beniaia-Alcalà and Pego-Ebo. After regrouping in La Nucia, they will face the Relleu-Tudons stages, the longest of the event, and Benasau-Gorga.
The regrouping in Alcoy will lead to the final part of the competition in the afternoon with the Alcoy-Benifallim-Torremanzanas stage, and after another regrouping in La Nucia, the racers will face the final part of the event, which will close with a new loop of the Relleu-Tudons, Benasau-Gorga, and Alcoy-Benifallim-Torremanzanas stages. The Rallye is expected to finish around 8:30 PM at the Camilo Cano Sports City in La Nucia.
