À Punt to Broadcast San Juan Bullfight from Alicante

À Punt will begin broadcasting bullfights starting next week. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 24th, San Juan Day, from the Hogueras Fair in Alicante. The lineup includes Sebastián Castella, Daniel Luque, and Tomás Rufo, who will face six bulls from the Zacarías Moreno ranch. The broadcast will be led by Jorge Casals, a journalist specializing in bullfighting. Accompanying him will be journalist Marta García, who will conduct interviews in the alley.

The lineup is highly appealing to bullfighting enthusiasts. Castella, the greatest French bullfighter of all time, is experiencing a resurgence and recently had a brilliant San Isidro Fair. Daniel Luque, from Gerena (Seville), has accumulated victories thanks to his experience and maturity. Meanwhile, the young Toledo native Tomás Rufo has already conquered the most important bullfighting arenas. In Alicante, he has consistently exited the ring on the shoulders of the crowd.

The Zacarías Moreno ranch returns to the Plaza de España ring after its successes in 2024 novilladas and bullfights. It is formed from the finest Domecq lineage, originating from El Ventorrillo, Daniel Ruiz, and Garcigrande.

Before the bullfight, which starts at 7 PM, the premiere of La Plaça, a new weekly program dedicated to the world of bullfighting, is scheduled. It will be part of À Punt's programming, airing on Saturdays before the NTC Migdia news. La Plaça will debut on San Juan Day at 6 PM, hosted by Jorge Casals. It will be a special dedicated to the Hogueras Fair, featuring the latest bullfighting news from Alicante and interviews with notable figures such as the Alicante maestro Luis Francisco Esplá.

The channel is thus fulfilling a popular demand that the audience has been expressing for months, which began in May with the broadcasts of bous al carrer from Vila-real and Almassora.
