Mayor Pablo Ruz has announced the launch of a housing plan for young people in Elche called 'Casa Fácil'. "An ambitious public promotion plan of 392 homes for ownership, rent, or rent-to-own, unprecedented in the history of Elche."
This initiative translates into 150 new homes in sector E-27, on Avenida Alcalde Ramón Pastor, accompanied by 193 parking spaces; 57 homes in the Pla-San José area, on the site of the old market, with 78 parking spaces; 4 on Carmelo García Serrano Street in Carrús and 10 on Hispanoamérica Street in Torrellano. Thus, on Monday, the Pimesa Council will approve the tender documents to start the bidding process.
He announced this as the halfway point of the legislature approaches next Tuesday. "Two years of coalition government, of teamwork and proactivity. 731 days of work, successes, and challenges with a general tone of enthusiasm and constant pace."
Ruz explained that it will be carried out with the public-private collaboration formula, as is already done in the Valencian Community through the Plan Vive, or in regions like Madrid or Andalusia. In this way, "Pimesa provides the land, and the private initiative that wins the public tender pays for those lands in the form of homes, through a swap. These homes and the rest will be put up for sale or rent under the protected housing formula. Thus, we are encouraging young people in Elche to access housing."
In the coming months, 50 new homes and 62 parking spaces will be added in the 3 available plots in the districts of Las Bayas, which will be promoted and built by the municipal company Pimesa.
Additionally, 'Casa Fácil' involves the immediate launch of 75 affordable rental homes in the Travalón area, about to be awarded and funded by the Next Generation funds, and 45 new homes in the San Antón neighborhood, which will be tendered in a few weeks.
With this initiative, added to the 73 protected homes promoted by the Valencian Community on Abogados de Atocha Street, opposite the City of Justice, more than 450 protected homes will be added in Elche in the coming years. A figure that, in the words of the mayor, "has not been seen in Elche for years despite the existing housing problem."
