The PSPV-PSOE of Alicante has conducted its first meeting with the members of the new provincial executive, led by the new General Secretary of the party in Alicante, Rubén Alfaro, and proclaimed at the provincial congress held last Saturday in Alcoi.
Alfaro expressed his gratitude to all members of the new executive for "the enthusiasm, strength, and eagerness to work with which they have embraced their new work secretariats, focusing on enhancing the province, strengthening each sector, and most importantly, reclaiming as many socialist municipalities as possible in the upcoming elections," according to a statement from the political formation.
"Because the most important thing right now for the province of Alicante and for the Valencian Community is that the PSOE, its values, and its policies committed to society reach as many citizens as possible," he emphasized.
Similarly, he highlighted that "this executive is broad and diverse to enrich each other, from one profile to another, and from one area of the province to another": "This synergy of people and local situations will make us a solid, enriched, trained, and prepared team to govern in the municipalities of Alicante."
Meanwhile, the First Deputy General Secretary and spokesperson, Bárbara Soler, also appreciated "the swift action plan that the Government has implemented to mitigate the tariff measures imposed by Trump, a Response and Commercial Relaunch Plan, which will mobilize 14.1 billion euros, 7.4 billion in new financing and another 6.7 billion in existing instruments."
"Measures that will help and protect businesses and jobs that could be affected by the new tariffs, and reorient our productive capacity and relaunch it," she added.
Additionally, the spokesperson also "strongly" criticized the "70 million cut in investments for the province of Alicante in 2025 that has been approved by the PP in the Consell plenary, with the support of Vox." "Public health, education, investment in innovation, democratic memory, promotion of Valencian, or infrastructure cannot depend on a partisan will, on a pact with the far-right that allows the current 'president' to remain in office," she stated.
After the establishment of the provincial executive committee, the work plan was approved, allowing work on different work blocks, coordinated by areas, although all are transversal.
