The Alicante Provincial Council unveiled a new cultural proposal this Thursday, in collaboration with the Art.Ellas Collective and 'Threshold of Events', an exhibition showcasing four different generations with diverse themes, techniques, and styles. The exhibition will be open to visitors until April 6 at the Provincial Palace.
The Deputy for Culture, Juan de Dios Navarro, inaugurated the exhibition alongside the creators, emphasizing that this initiative is crucial for showcasing the creative potential of our artists and aiding in the promotion and dissemination of the province's cultural scene, a mission the Provincial Council has pursued for many years. Additionally, the Deputy noted that this proposal coincides with the upcoming International Women's Day, which will be celebrated this Saturday.
The Art.Ellas Collective is a diverse group of five visual artists—graduates, lecturers, professors, and doctors in various fields—who, despite having different careers and trajectories, are united by friendship, a love for art, and the desire to share it with others. As they explained, their proposals are highly personal, employing techniques such as charcoal, digital tablet, collage, oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, or ecoprint, among others; and styles like comic, hyperrealism, impressionism, costumbrism, expressionism, surrealism, symbolism, or abstraction.
In essence, this group offers a journey through various artistic expressions of the current scene, featuring emerging, novice, and established authors. 'Threshold of Events' comprises 25 works and is curated by May Ibáñez, who described the proposal as "a project that combines creativity, diversity, and quality in its works, aiming beyond the act of exhibiting, as it seeks interaction with the viewer in technical, stylistic, and contextual aspects, given that these artists from different generations express and reflect the changes of recent decades through their works."
The exhibition can be visited at the Provincial Palace Exhibition Hall from Monday to Saturday, from 11 am to 1 pm and from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.
