The Provincial Council gathers experts to apply AI in the public sector

The Alicante Provincial Council presented the third Congress on Transparency, Citizen Participation, and Good Governance this Monday. The event, scheduled for Friday, April 7, will bring together experts in artificial intelligence at the ADDA to discuss its applicability in the public sector.

"The third edition of this forum for reflection and debate demonstrates the Provincial Council's strong commitment to an open, efficient, and approachable administration. It strengthens our support to the province's municipalities, enabling them to develop transparency and encourage citizen participation, so residents can clearly see how resources are managed and actively engage in decisions affecting their communities," stated the Deputy for Transparency, Cristina García Garri.

Under the motto 'The Transparency to Come', the event will revolve around technology, "undoubtedly a great ally in achieving these goals by simplifying processes and bringing the administration closer to the public," García Garri emphasized during the presentation, which also featured the attendance of the Head of the Transparency Service, Toni Canet.

As Canet explained, the Congress will be structured into two clearly differentiated but complementary parts. The first part will consist of a participatory dialogue with representatives from various municipalities in the province to understand their needs, share experiences, and draw conclusions that can be adapted to other contexts.

The second part of the meeting will feature two experts in artificial intelligence and its applicability in the public sector. Concepción Campos Acuña - public management - and Antonio Serrano Acitores – leadership and digital law - will discuss how technology can drive Transparency 4.0 and the controversial debate on ethics and transparency in the use of these tools. The expert in digital communication, Amalia López Acera, will present and moderate the event.
