A protest is set to occur this Friday, coinciding with the imminent extension of the administrative concession of the Vinalopó Hospital, which is managed by the Ribera Salud group. The protest aims to demand the reversion of the health department to which the centre belongs. It has been organised by the Platform for the Reversion of Vinalopó, and is scheduled to take place a day before the contract expires. The protest is expected to run from 9:30 to 11:00 am.

The citizens' platform claims that fifteen years "have been enough to prove that this public-private model has failed and is outdated." They lamented that the users of this health department and its workers "will suffer for another five years without any justification," which is the duration of the extension.

The platform has reminded that they sent a letter to the majority shareholder of the Ribera Group, the French company Vivalto Santé, after learning about the dismissal carried out last week of the executive leadership with Alberto de Rosa as president and Elisa Tarazona as director.

For the platform, this dismissal of the architect of this model of concessions and privatisations of healthcare in the Valencian Community "is a good opportunity to change course and return this health department to public hands, as they expressed in the letter sent."
