The President of the People's Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, consistently shares insights into the project he intends to present to the public. Aware that merely calling for general elections is insufficient, he promised on Tuesday in Alicante to 'clean up from top to bottom' in Spain.
The PP congress scheduled for the beginning of the month in Madrid will be one of 'hope' for a new project: 'There is hope, Spain is greater than its leaders,' he encouraged over a thousand attendees at a luncheon held this Tuesday in Alicante.
It was a significant gathering attended by top-level party officials from across the Valencian Community. As hosts, the President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón; the Mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala; and the President of the Provincial Council, Toni Pérez.
Among the guests were the Mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, the Mayor of Castellón, Begoña Carrasco, and the provincial presidents of both provinces. Additionally, there were numerous councillors and senior popular officials in the Administration and Les Corts.
This event might have been the largest for the PP in the Valencian Community since October 29. The party mobilised not only from the provincial level but also from the regional leadership commanded by Mazón.
In his speech, Feijóo intertwined elements of the popular programme with criticisms of Sánchez, as expected. Among the former, the popular president promised to 'lower taxes, protect property, and control immigration' because 'rights cannot arise from illegality,' he stated, taking an increasingly hard stance on this issue.
When it came to criticising 'Sanchismo', Feijóo did not hold back: 'The State Prosecutor's Office and the Presidency of the Government cannot be so tarnished,' he criticised following the indictment of the Attorney General.
He defended the 'success' of Sunday's demonstration, which 'stung' in Moncloa. Because 'there is a majority unwilling to swallow the farces; the majority demands cleanliness, justice, and elections.' And 'Spain can no longer endure more lies and corruption,' concluded the leader of the popular party.
