Positive for alcohol, drugs, and with a "significant" amount of cocaine in the car. This is how a driver was travelling through Elche before being stopped by the Local Police at a checkpoint, according to a statement from the Elche City Council.

After assessing the driver's condition and the load he was carrying, the officers arrested him on suspicion of a public health offense related to drug trafficking.

The incident occurred in the Derramador district, where a police checkpoint noticed the driver showing clear signs of alcohol consumption, leading to a test that returned a positive result.

Furthermore, during the operation, officers found a significant amount of cocaine in the suspect's car. The driver admitted ownership of the substance, resulting in his immediate arrest and transfer to police custody for further proceedings.
