The bonfire Port of Alicante begins the countdown to celebrate its 40th anniversary. They will commemorate the event with a new plantà, the third consecutive one after their rise in 2024, in the Special category. They will do so with new artists, introducing Sacabutxart in the top section of the Alicante Bonfires.

"We have decided to remain one more year in the top category as a sign of our commitment to the festival and the city of Alicante," stated its president Aurora Martínez, who celebrated the continuation in Special as a "pride" for the committee.

Thus, for this upcoming exercise, very special for the Port of Alicante district in all its aspects, they have decided to entrust their adult bonfire to the artists Sacabutxart, who already have experience in the section through several plantàs in other municipalities and festivals of the Community.

The Valencians will debut in the Special category of Alicante next year, a decision that Port of Alicante has made for their "talent, originality, and artistic vision," which "perfectly align with the spirit of the committee. We are convinced they will shape a bonfire worthy of our 40th anniversary."

Additionally, Port of Alicante has thanked the "excellent work" of Salva Banyuls and Néstor Ruiz during these last two exercises, which "have marked our return to the Special category."

The Valencian duo planted 'Butterfly Effect' in 2024 and 'Tu-tuump' this June, being "a reflection of their creativity, professionalism, and commitment to our committee. We wish them the best in their future projects and will always remember them as an important part of this stage."

Raúl Pertusa continues in the children's section

The Port of Alicante bonfire has also announced the continuation of its children's artist, Raúl García Pertusa, who has provided them with a first prize in the first category, as well as the award for the best children's ninot in its section and the award for the best ninot for children's rights in the first category.

"Their proposal has managed to move, educate, and entertain both young and old, and we are delighted to continue with him for the 2026 exercise," which will continue planting in Port of Alicante in the first children's category.
