The municipal political groups signed a joint declaration of support for those affected by the DANA this Monday. This will be approved in the ordinary Plenary session scheduled for this Tuesday, which has been reduced to the dispositive part after the municipal spokespersons of the different formations agreed to withdraw all political initiatives.

"The spokespersons of all political groups have signed a joint institutional declaration of support for those affected by the Dana. Unanimously, showing unity and responsibility, it was agreed in the Board of Spokespersons that this Tuesday's Plenary will only address the most urgent dispositive matters or those with deadlines, withdrawing all political initiatives: questions, requests, motions, and institutional declarations, except for the joint declaration in support of those affected by the DANA," explained the mayor.

Barcala highlighted "the unity with which all the political groups of the Alicante City Council have responded to the enormity of the tragedy we are experiencing caused by the DANA in Valencia. We are shocked and stunned. The City Council is providing all the means and help to meet the expectations of the Alicante citizens. These five minutes of silence are in solidarity with the affected and in memory of the victims, supporting their families who are still in the greatest uncertainty, awaiting news of the missing and what has happened to them."

The mayor also expressed his gratitude for all the efforts shown by the State Security Forces, the Military Emergency Unit (UME), Firefighters, and the countless volunteers working on cleaning and helping to bring normality where everything has disappeared.
