Two officers from the Alicante National Police turned into angels and managed to save the life of a 71-year-old man who lost consciousness while having breakfast with his wife at a café. A call to 091 about a man choking and unable to breathe mobilised a nearby patrol.

At the scene, officers confirmed the victim had no vital signs and showed a noticeable change in skin colour. While instructing medical services to head to the location, they immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) due to the severity of the situation.

After performing the rescue manoeuvre, the victim showed signs of recovery. The medical team then arrived and took over, noting the man had regained vital signs but remained in critical condition. He was rushed to Alicante General Hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.

Apparently, the victim was having breakfast with his wife at the café when he suddenly lost consciousness, prompting a waitress to alert the police immediately.

The victim suffered a severe cardiorespiratory arrest, according to Alicante General Hospital. Thanks to the quick action of the officers and the CPR performed, the man survived.
