A call to 091 alerted authorities about an 8-year-old child with autism spectrum disorder who had gone missing near Alicante's Explanada de España. A motorised patrol of the National Police in the vicinity for public safety immediately responded to the area. After a thorough search, they found a child matching the description.
Subsequently, another patrol searched the same area for the child's family, using the motorcycles' acoustic and light devices to increase visibility and locate the family more easily. Once found, the child was returned to his parents, who were very grateful to the officers for their prompt resolution of the distressing situation. The family were tourists visiting for the Hogueras de San Juan and were unfamiliar with the city and language.

Identification Bracelets for Children
One of the innovative initiatives by the National Police this summer is the creation of an identification bracelet for children. Parents can write their child's name and phone number on it in case they get lost. The bracelets are distributed by police units on beaches and are also available at tourist offices and hotels.
The National Police reminds that on June 11, they launched the Operation Summer with a display of police resources on the promenade of Dénia's port.
