She was either to marry her cousin, eight years her senior, or face the consequences, which in this case were constant beatings and death threats. The most distressing aspect was that these assaults came from her own parents. This was the situation faced by a 17-year-old girl in Alicante, who, in desperation, alerted one of her teachers.

This led to the events being reported to the National Police, whose officers initiated an intervention that ended the ordeal endured by the minor and prevented her from being forced into marriage in Pakistan, where her intended husband resided. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a Pakistani couple, aged 44 and 52. The detainees are considered alleged perpetrators of domestic abuse and coercion, according to police sources.

The girl was taken to the National Police station, where she recounted that she had been living in Spain since May. Around that time, her family informed her that she was to marry a cousin residing in Pakistan, to which she refused. From then on, episodes of aggression ensued, committed by both her father and mother. Beatings all over her body, hair pulling, and object throwing were the usual forms of abuse, as stated by the victim.

Delving further into the events, the young woman revealed that her father had threatened to kill her if she did not agree to the marriage. Specifically, he threatened to take her to Pakistan and end her life there, according to the same sources.

Apparently, the parents wanted to arrange this marriage because the girl's cousin had been denied entry at the border several times when attempting to enter Europe. The parents believed that if their daughter married him, it would be easier for him to access the European Union.

Upon learning of these events, specialized agents from the Judicial Police initiated an intervention that led to the arrest of the parents for the alleged commission of domestic abuse and coercion for forced marriage. After completing police procedures, the events were reported to the judicial authority, while the minor, with no other family in Spain, was requested to be placed in a care center for her protection.
