The Plan Planifica of the Provincial Council invests 2.3 million euros in works in Monóvar and Sax

The Plan Planifica 2024-2027 of the Alicante Provincial Council will mobilise 2.3 million euros to boost various works in the municipalities of Monóvar and Sax, as highlighted by the Infrastructure Deputy, Antonio Bernabeu, during his recent visit to these two towns to learn about some of the projects funded by the provincial institution.

After holding meetings with the respective mayors, Bernabeu emphasised "the significant investment" to "promote infrastructures that contribute to improving the quality of life of their residents."

In this regard, he recalled that the new Plan Planifica includes more than 91 million euros for the 141 towns and three smaller entities in the province and the execution of nearly 300 works, according to a statement from the Provincial Council.

Firstly, the Infrastructure Deputy visited the municipality of Monóvar, where he had the opportunity to discuss with its mayor, Loren Amat, the three projects that the Town Hall has requested within the framework of Planifica 2024-2027.

These involve actions in the Salitre ravine, such as debris cleaning, the adaptation of a path, and the creation of a rainwater regulation lagoon, with a budget of 757,553 euros, of which the Provincial Council covers 492,408 euros.

Improvements will also be made on Don Ciro road, with 283,120 euros and a provincial subsidy of 184,028 euros, and the demolition of the old institute and adaptation of the plot for endowment use, with 215,900 euros and a Provincial Council aid of 140,335 euros.

During his stay in the town, the deputy also showed interest in the status of the rehabilitation project of the building on Cid Street, a work included in the previous Planifica with a budget of one million euros, of which the provincial institution finances more than 65 percent. Bernabeu specified that work is underway to resume the works "shortly."

The improvement of accessibility in the urban environment of Venta de Blai and the Azorín School (281,534 euros) or paving on Mayor Street (160,319 euros) are other projects in Monóvar that have provincial aid.

After his visit to Monóvar, Bernabeu travelled to Sax to meet with its mayor, Laura Estevan, to analyse the project requested by the Town Hall in the new Planifica, such as the improvement of the Municipal Sports City, which has a budget of 1,038,455 euros, of which the Provincial Council subsidises 763,676 euros.

Furthermore, both public officials took the opportunity to visit the works of the auditorium and cultural house in Sax. According to the deputy, they are expected to be completed by March. This action, with a total cost of 762,508 euros, is 86% funded by the Provincial Council and is part of the previous Planifica.

These works are added to other actions funded by the provincial institution in Sax, such as the repair of the municipal swimming pool --103,000 euros--, the renewal of the artificial turf of the football field --221,900--, the improvement of the municipal library --97,000-- or the renovation of the social services centre --115,000--.

After his visit to both municipalities, Bernabeu highlighted "the importance of collaboration between administrations to, together, offer better services and facilities to citizens, who are, after all, the raison d'être" of the Provincial Council.
