It is a great honour that will be bestowed this Sunday upon Vicente Castelló. The Pica i Vola barraca, the second oldest in the Alicante Bonfires, awards its honourary blouse to the creator of Nou Manolín.

This is the highest accolade from this festive commission. It will be presented to the restaurateur this Sunday during their official meal prior to the Bonfires, at the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante.

With this gesture of awarding its honourary blouse, the Pica i Vola barraca acknowledges one of the main "architects and a reference both in the culinary and hospitality fields of the magnificent Alicante gastronomy."

This discipline is one of the pillars defended by the Pica i Vola barraca, which has always considered gastronomy as part of Alicante's cultural identity.

Proof of this is the latest edition of their 'Cuina i paraules' cycle, focused on the recipes of food and drink typical of the grand days of June.

Regarding its honourary blouse, the barraca emphasises that "Mr Vicente has placed the city of Alicante at the top in all areas of his activity, including internationally."

Thus, with all pride and recognition, the Pica i Vola barraca wishes to acknowledge the entire career of Vicente Castelló by awarding him its highest accolade. "An indispensable figure, without whom the rise of our gastronomy cannot be understood."
