The Elda City Council, through the Department of Culture and in collaboration with various municipal areas, announced this Wednesday the programme for 'Elda 40Gra2'. It promises a summer filled with music, theatre, cinema, and literature, offering a diverse agenda of free cultural activities from 13th June until the end of August 2025.
The programme kicks off on Friday, 13th June with 'A la calle piano' on Juan Carlos I Street, followed by the much-anticipated H2O Fest on Saturday, 14th June at Plaza Castelar. Throughout June, highlights include concerts by We will AMCE, Mónica Pérez's Tour Musa, and the 40Gra2 Children's Festival featuring performances by Lupi and the Musas del Soul, as well as the literary series 'Letras a la fresca', featuring Teresa Cardona and other authors, according to municipal sources.
July will be packed with offerings for all audiences, including comedy monologues by Fran Bleda, Nadin Din, Lionel Mandrake, Patri Muñoz, and Elsa Ruiz; live music with Cooldesac Folk, Orquesta Entrecuerdas, and the Rock Elda Festival featuring Obús, Excalibur, and Gabrielle de Val. There will also be open-air cinema with weekly screenings and opera sessions returning with titles like La Bohème and Madama Butterfly.
80s Cinema
The literary series 'Letras a la fresca' continues in July with authors such as Miguel Fernández, Félix Albo, Elia Barceló, and Verónica Martínez Amat. The programme will continue in August with more summer cinema and literature. This year introduces a new thematic film series, focusing on the 1980s for the month of August.
"This year we have designed a diverse programme with quality offerings that cover music, history, theatre, opera, cinema, comedy, and literature, aimed at all audiences and tastes," said the Councillor for Culture, Iñaki Pérez Rico. "We want culture to reach every corner of Elda, which is why we have distributed activities across all city neighbourhoods, using squares, parks, and iconic spaces so that no resident misses the opportunity to enjoy the cultural summer."
"Elda 40Gra2" is a firm commitment to bringing culture closer to the public during the summer months, filling squares, gardens, and iconic city spaces with free, quality proposals for all ages," the councillor noted.
Finally, the councillor also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the different departments that put together the programme, such as Citizen Participation, University Relations, Tourism, and Diversity. He also expressed his gratitude to the collaborating associations and companies "which demonstrate how culture is becoming a focus of economic dynamism in Elda."
