The province of Alicante has recorded up to six traffic accidents, with various incidents on the roads this week, including another last Sunday. This Friday, a 22-year-old man was hit after a collision between two cars in the town of Torrevieja.
The vehicles collided on Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente street, resulting in the pedestrian being hit, who was taken to Torrevieja Hospital by the Emergency Medical Assistance Service (SAMU) after suffering multiple injuries.
In the accident, two women - aged 25 and 51 - were also treated for bruises, according to the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU). Both were attended by medical services and transported to the Quirón Clinic in a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance.
Another traffic accident occurred in the city of Alicante this Friday, when a driver lost control and crashed his Porsche into a lamppost at the intersection of José Luis Lassaletta and Nadadora Carmen Soto streets.
According to witnesses, the driver was speeding, skidded, and lost control of the high-end vehicle, crashing it into a lamppost. The driver was accompanied by a young woman, who was in tears after the impact. Both were unharmed.
Ten Injured and Two Dead in a Week
The province's roads have seen ten injured and two dead over the past week. Last Sunday, an accident occurred on the A-7, in the municipality of Alicante, with two men taken to hospital.
Another traffic accident left one dead and two injured last Tuesday, on the A-31 near Petrer. The car veered off the road and crashed into a tree. Firefighters had to intervene to rescue the deceased and extricate another passenger. Almost 24 hours later, a bus got stuck on the same road, the A-31 in Petrer. This time, the accident resulted in no injuries but caused long traffic jams.
On the same Wednesday, the roads saw another fatality. A 30-year-old motorcyclist was hit by a second truck after colliding with a first trailer on the A-70. A day later, another accident occurred on the A-7 near Benidorm, injuring three people.
These incidents add to those that occurred this Friday, with three injured in Torrevieja, the pedestrian hit, and the two women aboard the collided vehicles. Also, on the same day, a garbage truck driver miraculously saved a homeless person who fell inside, after being in a container, and could have been crushed.
