The Elche City Council continues to improve and modernize public roads in the various districts of the municipality. These weeks, the works are focusing on the district of El Altet.
On Sinus Ilicitanus Avenue, the asphalt and elevated pedestrian crossings are being improved to reduce speed, in addition to speed reduction signage.
There will also be paving and improved signage on the road from El Altet from the San Francisco hermitage to the Miñana road, and also the Miñana road that connects Balsares with El Altet and Torrellano, which is heavily used by residents.
On the other hand, the accessibility around the beach roundabout will be improved to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility.
The Councilor for Districts, Raúl Sempere, explained that "we are also improving the issue of speed bumps in El Altet for pedestrian safety."
In this regard, the works, which are expected to be completed by the end of 2024, involve rehabilitating streets and roads. The paving works in districts have a budget of 1.5 million euros.
This action will be joined by many others to be carried out in districts, such as the paving of roads and highways in Balsares, La Marina, and the districts of Altabix, and Jubalcoy, among others.
