Heavy rains on Friday caused an unexpected effect on the new pavement of the Finca Adoc in Alicante. The downpour resulted in a 'bleeding' effect on the newly laid surface in this area adjacent to the bay. The dye in the material dissolved, staining the area with a reddish hue.
After observing the effect, the Alicante City Council has requested the contractor responsible for the paving of Finca Adoc to urgently address the issue, which has caused discontent among residents and concerns about the material's quality.

The Urban Planning Department emphasizes that it is an eco-friendly continuous pavement, manufactured with selected aggregates, glass cement, and dye, commonly used in natural environments. However, the incident is "atypical" and has highlighted a potential deficiency in the material used.
"If it is a manufacturing defect, it should be removed and replaced, ensuring that this behavior of the material does not recur," stated the technical area. As the project is still under warranty, the City Council has initiated procedures for the contractor to undertake the repair and correction of the detected faults.
Councilor Rocío Gómez assured that action has been taken "swiftly" and that they are in contact with the affected residents. "Measures must be taken to resolve it and prevent it from happening again," she pointed out.
The incident has sparked local interest in the behavior of this type of pavement under adverse weather conditions, as the effect of the dissolved dye, described as "a red stain on the ground," not only affects the promenade's aesthetics but also raises questions about its durability and safety.
The City Council calls for the company to seek a definitive solution "as soon as possible" to restore normalcy in the area.
