Passes and Failures of a Rebuilding Hercules
Defensive fragility marks the season of a team that ended in disarray with Torrecilla under pressure

In a cold analysis of the 24-25 season, it is clear that Hercules went from strength to weakness, ending the season desperately seeking the final whistle, with no chances for promotion or the Copa del Rey. From a promising and effervescent start to the league, with an unleashed Soldevila, to a second half with relegation numbers and a total of 17 defeats, likely leading to the exit of coach Rubén Torrecilla.
The Tenerife native has not only proven to be up to the First RFEF standard, but the club believes he would be a reliable goalkeeper in the Second Division. For this reason, he has renewed for three more years. Captain, strong man in the locker room, and now a centurion with Hercules.
The Jerez de la Frontera goalkeeper only played against Ibiza and Antequera due to an injury to Abad. He showed personality and did not clearly err in any goal, but conceded six goals in these two matches. Next season he will continue as an under-23.
Hercules fought hard for his continuity last summer but he has struggled to adapt to the new category. He suffers in defense and is no longer as decisive in attack as he was in the Second RFEF, when he was practically a winger. Torrecilla tried Alvarito and Sotillos at right-back, but was not convinced, and Samu ended up with 30 games played, 25 of them as a starter. He will continue.
Hercules' defense has been leaking, but the Madrid native has been the most tuned-in central defender and the one who has played the most (35 games). Aggressive, with personality in ball distribution and quick in cutting, it is also true that he has struggled in aerial play in many matches. He has a valid contract and will continue.
He started the season as untouchable in the defense alongside Montoro, but lost prominence, either because Torrecilla relied on the veteran Josema, or because he had to play at right-back, where he did not convince. He has been in the picture for several goals, but he has a contract and experience in the category. Of the 29 games he has played, 28 have been as a starter.
He ended the season with a goal against Sanluqueño and 26 games played. His experience and aggressiveness have been important in some matches, but he is likely to leave this summer. He will leave with his head held high, as his professionalism and commitment to the project are beyond doubt.
Clearly from less to more. His first half was erratic and Torrecilla was crying out for a left-back in the January market. In the end, Retu raised his level with the arrival of Arumí and finished the season playing everything (33 games) because neither Del Moral nor Arumí challenged him for the position.
A practically blank season for the versatile defender. He has only started eight games due to various injuries and has not convinced as a central defender, nor as a left-back. His departure is taken for granted.
He arrived in the winter market from Andorra, also from the First RFEF, and Torrecilla was opposed to his signing from the start. The coach then used all possible alternatives to ensure Arumí had no opportunities and closed the second half with 133 minutes, spread over three games.
The Alicante native only settled in the starting eleven in the final stretch of the league and it is clear that Torrecilla has little faith in him. He finished the season with minutes in 28 games, but only 15 starts. He has a valid contract for the next season.
The versatile and hard-working Canarian midfielder has closed the season with 31 games played and 22 starts. Hercules wants to renew him because he is a pillar in the locker room and has proven to be up to the task in difficult moments. He scored three goals against Algeciras, Ceuta, and Alcorcón.
He has probably been the most consistent midfielder of the season and has shown that the category is not too big for him. In fact, the club sees him capable of playing in the Second Division, hence his renewal until 2028. He scored a great goal in Alcoy that paved the way for victory at El Collao after many years.
The Granada playmaker excited many at the start of the league with his dribbling ability, and the two great goals he scored against Sevilla Atlético and Marbella will be remembered. A bone edema in his toe troubled him in the second half and he ended the season with a residual role, out of shape and without minutes. He closes the season with 20 starts, a poor record for a player expected to make a difference.
The best player of Hercules by far this season. He has been the top scorer with 11 goals despite missing two months of competition due to a broken toe. At the start of the season, he made a difference on the right wing with his left foot and was later repositioned behind the striker due to Javi Moreno's great form. As a "ten," he also stood out and is on the radar of several teams. He has a contract until 2028 and Hercules will not make his departure easy.
He continues to grow and his ordeal with injuries seems forgotten. He has scored six goals in 35 games, has played everything, and is also on the radar of several teams. Like several teammates, he ended the season exhausted and is a key player in the squad. At Rico Pérez, they do not even consider that he might leave this summer.
He only played the final minutes of 14 games and Torrecilla brought him on when there was less than a quarter of an hour left. Practically without opportunities and with a serious knee injury that will make him miss the preseason. Uncertain future.
He ended the season in the worst way, with a self-expulsion that carries a three-match suspension. His final stretch of the league was not good, but he showed glimpses of a very classy player. Five goals and numerous assists playing on the right wing with his left foot have put him on the radar of many teams. He has had Hercules' renewal offer on the table for several weeks but has not yet responded.
Another season where he has shown glimpses of being a good player, but still lacks continuity. He has only started eleven games, scored three goals, but has not broken through and his continuity is in question.
His meniscus only lasted 27 minutes in his debut against Yeclano and he had to undergo surgery. Hercules is negotiating with Betis for the loan of the Spanish under-19 international striker again. His continuity would be key because having high-level players with an under-23 card is crucial in the squad's composition.
The great disappointment of the season. He joined Hercules at the express request of Torrecilla (they never hid that they were friends), but the Andalusian striker has spent more time in the infirmary, on the bench, or in the stands than on the pitch. He has only started 12 games and his four goals are clearly insufficient when he was supposed to make a difference. A certain departure.
The hero of the promotion against Lleida has delivered in the First RFEF and ended the season as an undisputed starter due to Yanis' absence and Romera's poor form. Coscia guarantees work, commitment, and has once again shown that he is not bad at scoring. He finished the season as the second top scorer with eight goals and, in principle, is in the plans for the next campaign.
