Francisco José Gan Pampols, the new second vice president and minister for Recovery, stated regarding the Consell's decree that includes the removal of the salary cap for new positions, that he has 'consolidated remuneration rights' and 'in the General State Administration, they are always respected.'
'I have a 44-year administrative career, I have consolidated remuneration rights. And in the General State Administration, consolidated remuneration rights are always respected.' He declared this in response to questions from La Sexta, as reported by Europa Press, already outside, after leaving the Les Corts plenary session this Thursday, the first ordinary session after the storm on October 29 and after the Consell's reshuffle last Tuesday.

The lieutenant general, whom the media could not approach inside the building due to the presence of Les Corts security personnel, responded with these words to the decree approved on Tuesday afternoon concerning measures for officials due to the storm, which includes a provision removing the salary cap of 15% above the Consell chief's salary for new positions.
On the other hand, when questioned about his priorities as the person responsible for reconstruction after the storm, Gan Pampols simply stated: 'People, always', without answering further questions.
Previously, the President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, described this issue as a 'sterile controversy' upon his arrival at Les Corts and defended that the salaries of officials 'must be maintained because it is a lifetime of dedication,' while both PSPV and Compromís have denounced this as their 'first measure' after the storm.
