The Ministry of Social Services and Housing has mobilized over 600 technicians to inspect and assess the damage to buildings caused by DANA in Valencia. Specifically, they are doing so "urgently" in five localities that have requested it due to the catastrophic consequences of the floods, such as Massanassa, Picanya, Paiporta, Benetúser, and Alcudia.

In this way, the Generalitat has mobilized a total of six group coordinators of inspectors who are already carrying out fieldwork, out of a total of 23 technicians specialized in disasters and who have been sent by the Valencian Institute of Building (IVIE).

They are joined by technicians from professional colleges, such as the 190 from the College of Architects, the 317 from the College of Technical Architects, and the 44 from the College of Civil Engineers. All of them will technically support the group coordinators.

These professional colleges are responsible for channeling the offers of their registered technicians and classifying them by specialty to form the largest number of technical teams with the greatest specialization. These groups are joined by about 33 municipal professionals who constitute the coordination staff responsible in the different municipalities.

To respond to the urgency of the five Valencian localities that have requested help for inspections, the technicians are applying preventive measures and assessing and preparing the corresponding reports.

Urgency

The Damage Assessment and Recovery Unit continues to work in a coordinated manner to ensure the prompt recovery of the affected areas and guarantee the safety of citizens. It should be remembered that, given the serious situation that occurred, on November 2 the unit was urgently activated to address the current situation following the recent events that have affected various Valencian localities.
