In the framework of the Aula Salud Colegios programme, an initiative developed by Vithas aimed at educating young people on self-care, healthy living habits, and first aid, Vithas Medimar Hospital welcomed 44 students from the second year of A-levels at Inmaculada Jesuitas School in the city.

During their visit, the students gained first-hand insight into the work carried out by the hospital's healthcare staff. This session focused on providing professional guidance to students who will begin their university studies next year. Therefore, various professionals with different profiles and specialties participated in the meeting.

Among them, Sandra Paraíso and Pilar Díez, nursing coordinators, explained that "nursing is one of the most rewarding professions as it involves helping people daily and witnessing their recovery." They also highlighted that "the greatest reward is the gratitude of knowing they are contributing to improving people's well-being and health, which fills us with meaning and purpose."

Physiotherapy Missions

Meanwhile, Sara San Cristóbal, a paediatric physiotherapist at the centre, detailed the daily activities and scope of work of professionals in her field. She noted that "through physiotherapy, we fulfil various missions, not only addressing sports injuries but also preventing certain degenerative diseases and specialising in paediatric, rehabilitation, gynaecological, and neurological areas."

Additionally, Dr María Jesús Cano, the centre's deputy medical director, emphasised the value of the medical profession and "how the human factor plays such an important role, as the daily interaction with patients during critical health moments is the greatest reward and satisfaction."

The students were able to ask questions about the professional profiles working in healthcare institutions and expand their knowledge about the type of work, characteristics, and particularities required. Finally, the group of students toured the centre's facilities.
