Over 40 Municipalities in Alicante Apply for Generalitat Aid to Improve Industrial Areas

Up to 45 municipalities from nine regions in Alicante have applied for Generalitat aid to enhance their industrial areas. In total, Ivace has received 75 applications from the province as part of the call for the years 2025-26.

These grants will cover between 70% and 100% of project costs and will allow for the modernization of infrastructures, services, or facilities in the industrial estates, "improving competitiveness and the establishment of new companies," according to Industry Minister Marián Cano.

The head of the department emphasized "the Generalitat's effort to provide municipalities with the necessary resources to enhance their industrial parks" and noted that the call includes an investment of 63 million euros in direct aid for annual or multi-annual projects.

In Alicante, grants have been requested for 13 annual projects and 62 multi-annual ones. Among the Management and Modernization Entities (EGM), 17 applications have been submitted to Ivace, while there is one multi-annual application for the line of municipalities at risk of depopulation.

The aid call for the improvement of industrial areas 2025-2026 establishes three lines of action: one for localities at risk of depopulation, another for municipalities with a constituted Management and Modernization Entity (EGM) or an Urban Conservation Entity in their industrial areas, and a third line for other municipalities.

Improvement projects must be executed in an industrial area included in the industrial land map of the Valencian Community. The minimum subsidizable budget will be 25,000 euros, and the maximum amount will consider the industrial estate's area, not exceeding 300,000 euros, or 500,000 euros for the line of action for localities with EGMs or Urban Conservation Entities.

Among the subsidizable actions, any civil works to improve the industrial estate's infrastructure or the expansion of existing ones stand out: the creation of roads, bridges, or a railway halt are some of the proposals. Assistance will also be provided for acquiring adjacent land to improve access, green areas, or expand the park itself and enhance its social services with parks, hotels, or restaurants, among others.
