Renfe transported over 2,886,000 passengers on Alicante's commuter services last year. This figure represents a 4.6% growth (127,000 new passengers) compared to the volume recorded at the end of 2023. This upward trend indicates confidence in the train as a public transport means in Alicante and coincides with the expansion of free passes for frequent commuters.

The Alicante commuter network consists of two lines. Line C-1 (Murcia del Carmen – Alicante) connects Murcia and Alicante, passing through towns such as Beniel, Orihuela, Callosa de Segura, Albatera-Catral, Crevillent, Elx, and Torrellano. Meanwhile, line C-3 links Alicante with Sant Vicent Centre station, with an intermediate stop at the University of Alicante.

Alicante's commuter services have become the preferred transport for those not only commuting to work or study centres but also for those wishing to explore Alicante's beaches or the entire tourist offering during the celebration of Les Fogueres de Sant Joan.
