Orihuela Invites You to Explore Its Heritage with Routes Dedicated to the Virgin of Monserrate

The Department of Tourism of Orihuela has designed a special program of routes for the month of September, framed within the festivities of Our Lady of Monserrate. This program includes a mix of classic tours and new additions, offering the opportunity to explore the cultural, historical, and natural richness of the municipality.

The Councilor for Tourism, Gonzalo Montoya, highlighted the importance of these routes in the context of the patron saint festivities: "September in Orihuela comes hand in hand with Our Lady of Monserrate during her patron saint festivities. In these, we have organized a series of routes focused on history, heritage, culture, and the image surrounding the Virgin of Orihuela. These routes are also accompanied by other classic ones such as those dedicated to our universal poet Miguel Hernández or the nature routes in Orihuela Costa."

The program will begin on Sunday, September 1st with the route 'Miguel, the Shepherd Poet,' a tour through the Orihuela orchard that explores the literary origins of the writer. This route will allow participants to enjoy the surroundings and landscape of the Orihuela orchard.

On Wednesday, September 4th, there will be a route through the hills of Campoamor, a scenic trail that has been very well received in previous editions. This route allows enjoyment of both the golf course in the hills and the coast.

As part of the patron saint festivities of Our Lady of Monserrate, five heritage and cultural routes have been prepared in Orihuela's historic center. They will take place from Monday, September 9th to Thursday, September 19th.
