Operation Galakas: Albanian Citizen Cultivates Marijuana in Calp Villa

The Civil Guard has arrested a 23-year-old Albanian citizen accused of managing a marijuana plantation inside a villa in Calp. During the house search, officers seized 350 'maría' plants in the flowering stage, along with a fully equipped indoor cultivation system, according to a statement from the Civil Guard.

The operation to dismantle the 'maría' plantation, named 'Galakas', began in February 2025, when officers from the Civil Guard's Investigation Area in Calp became aware of the possible existence of an indoor cultivation in a residence within a local urbanization.

Investigators, through various surveillance and tracking operations, confirmed that the villa was permanently occupied by a single individual responsible for the care and maintenance of the plantation.

After examining all the evidence, officers conducted a search of the residence, where they found over 350 plants in a fully equipped indoor greenhouse with advanced technology to optimize growth. The system included state-of-the-art LED lights, transformers, air conditioners, fans, carbon filters, and an automated irrigation system, according to the same sources.

The arrested individual is accused of crimes against public health (drug cultivation) and electricity fraud. After appearing in court, the Court of Instruction No. 3 of Dénia has ordered his release with precautionary measures. The Civil Guard of Calp continues its investigations and does not rule out further arrests.
