The new Opel Frontera, with its dimensions of nearly 4.4 metres, can compete with models from a higher segment. It comes with electric engines of 110 HP and hybrid engines of 100 and 136 HP, with prices starting at 19,900 euros for the hybrid and 16,600 euros (including the move plan) for the electric version.

Thanks to a wheelbase of 2,670 metres, it offers a very generous space in the rear seats and a 460-litre boot that can accommodate a third row of seats. This, combined with 23 litres of interior storage spaces, makes the model a solution to all the needs of a family.

The new Frontera exudes strength with its robust lines. The front includes the black screen with the Opel logo and integrates the Intelli-LED headlights with automatic high beams. The side view reveals a distinctive C-pillar, visually dividing the spacious cabin. Additionally, the pronounced wheel arches and fenders firmly plant the car on the road.

Inside, the driver has an information panel on a 10-inch screen, and for those who do not want the second infotainment screen, Opel offers the 'SmartPhone Station' where the driver can place their mobile phone comfortably and control it from the steering wheel.

One of the main challenges for most brands is to offer seats that do not tire the driver on long journeys. Opel has achieved this, and in line with Opel's 'Greenovation' approach, the optional Intelli seats are made from recycled and therefore sustainable material.

The intention of the new Frontera to be a family model is evident. With the rear seats folded down, it offers up to 1,600 litres of luggage space, with additional versatility provided by the 60:40 split of the rear bench. Additionally, as an option, it can carry a roof tent (supporting up to 240 kilos) that is easy to assemble.

Regarding the engines, the Frontera Hybrid features a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with 74 kW (100 HP) specifically developed for hybrid use. It works in combination with a 21 kW (28 HP) electric motor and a six-speed dual-clutch electrified transmission, resulting in lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to a conventional propulsion model. Additionally, the Frontera Hybrid is also available with a 1.2 turbo engine of 100 kW (136 HP). In the 100% electric version, it is equipped with a battery with 83 kW (113 HP), 44 kWh (usable), and a range of up to 305 kilometres (according to WLTP).

The new Frontera lives up to its German heritage, with special attention paid to its dynamic performance at high speeds. It is important to remember that on German motorways, there is no speed limit.

During the test drives conducted along the border between Galicia and Portugal, we were able to observe the model's poise on all types of roads. The precision of its steering is particularly noteworthy, especially in the winding areas of mountain roads, where the exclusive suspension system provides high stability, making the new Opel Frontera a predictable and reliable model.
