They boast for two reasons. The first for being the oldest veterinary hospital in Spain and the second for celebrating 75 years. Therefore, the AniCura center, located in San Vicente del Raspeig, celebrates this anniversary with the figure of its founder, Manuel Isidro Rodríguez, as a banner.
The center opened its doors in 1949 and is located on the street of this Alicante municipality that bears the name of its founder. "We are proud of everything we have achieved over the years to carry on my father's legacy," explains the director of AniCura San Vicente Veterinary Hospital, Manuel Alejandro Rodríguez.
Thus, they write a new page in their history, which they describe as an "honor" to celebrate this moment "surrounded by colleagues who, with their hard dedication, have accompanied us for more than 40 years. This time has been key to growing a project that was pioneering in Spain at the time."
Currently, this veterinary hospital offers a "cutting-edge service and exceptional quality" to small animals, exotics, and horses from all over the Community and neighboring regions.
The center handles a large volume of clinical cases and emergencies daily, including medical and surgical emergencies such as abdominal surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and traumatology. They are also leaders in equine surgery, especially colic surgery, of which they are "pioneers and leaders in Spain."
It was last Saturday when the members of this veterinary hospital dressed up and attended the auditorium of the Faculty of Education at UA, where they commemorated their 75th anniversary with an event.
Among the attendees were the mayor of San Vicente del Raspeig, José Pascual Llopis, the clinical director of the center, Manuel Alejandro Rodríguez, the president of Avepa, Jordi Gine Puigròs, and the general manager of Anicura Iberia, Enrique Rodríguez.
The event also featured trainer Luis Galindo and professor of Medicine and Surgery at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Luis Ferrer.
