Polestar 3, the 'premium' electric SUV where sobriety is elegance, technology is standard, and driving is a pleasure. The Swedish-origin brand takes automotive concepts to the next level with its third product aimed at a select audience seeking exclusivity, performance, and ecology, willing to pay the 92,900 euros for the most affordable version currently available (Dual Motor Launch Edition).

It maintains the aesthetic line of its other versions, the Polestar 2 and 4, but is completely recognizable as a different model. Polestar 3 debuts an aerodynamic profile with special attention to preserving the distinctive characteristics of an SUV, where robustness is evident.

To reduce resistance, it ingeniously incorporates a front aerodynamic spoiler integrated into the hood. Combined with the rear spoiler and rear aerodynamic fins, it achieves knife-like air penetration.

This combination of spoilers exerts downward pressure on the model, ensuring driving security on any terrain or road layout. The adjustable pneumatic suspension in hardness and height also contributes to this.

The TVDC technology improves cornering by individually transmitting power to each wheel, optimizing balance and guaranteeing maximum agility at the wheel. Large Brembo brakes come standard, ensuring safety when stopping a car weighing over two tons.

It houses dual motors delivering a combined power of 360 kW (489 HP), with the Performance Pack boosting total power to 380 kW (517 HP). Acceleration is notable, although not emphasized by the brand, going from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.

Adjustable traction with a single pedal is included, as well as an electric dual-clutch function with torque vectoring on the rear axle. A decoupling function for the rear electric motor allows the car to run solely on the front electric motor to save energy in certain circumstances.

In terms of safety, as an heir to its Volvo past, it incorporates cutting-edge technology. It comes standard with five radar modules, five external cameras, and twelve external ultrasonic sensors to support numerous advanced safety functions.

Technology also looks inward; to avoid tragic oversights inside the vehicle, it has sensors that can detect sub-millimeter movements in the car's interior to prevent accidentally leaving children or pets inside. The system is also linked to the climate control system to avoid heat strokes or hypothermia.

The interior is welcoming, aided significantly by sustainable materials—the leather has animal welfare certification and wool upholstery is fully traceable. A large vertical 14.5-inch screen dominates the center of the dashboard. And as always, technology is key; in this case, it's Android Automotive OS developed jointly with Google.

This represents an evolution of the technology first launched in Polestar 2—the world's first car with integrated Google—and a revolution in functionalities and design for the large SUV segment. Wireless updates are included to allow continuous software improvement and new feature introductions without needing to visit a service point.

The heart of this 'premium' SUV carries a 111 kWh battery pack providing a driving range of up to 628 km (in the Performance trim). The Polestar 3 is also equipped for bidirectional charging, enabling future potential for vehicle-to-grid capabilities and plug-and-charge functionality.

The list of standard equipment in Polestar 3 is extensive, with few options for simplified configuration and production logistics. Both versions include pneumatic suspension, full-length panoramic glass roof, full LED lighting inside and out, retractable door handles with proximity sensor, and 21-inch alloy wheels.

The Plus Pack and Pilot Pack come standard in the launch edition and include a series of premium luxury and convenience features such as a 25-speaker Bowers Wilkins audio system with 3D surround sound and Dolby Atmos capability, soft-close doors, head-up display, and Pilot Assist.
