Nine people were rescued this Sunday, August 25, on the two main beaches of El Campello, Muchavista and Carrer la Mar, after swimming far out to sea despite the presence of yellow or red flags. These reckless actions necessitated the presence of the Local Police to prevent further incidents, according to the Town Hall.

Lifeguards reported that it was "the busiest and most stressful day of this season," as swimmers ignored the flags and disregarded the workers' whistles to stay out of the water. The yellow flag indicates caution, while the red flag signifies that entering the water is strictly prohibited.

Before the arrival of security forces, the swimmers had to call for help as they were unable to get out of the water, experiencing moments of extreme distress.

Six people were assisted in Muchavista and three in Carrer la Mar, rescued by around ten lifeguards, according to municipal sources.
