A new dinghy has reached the Alicante coastline this Wednesday. Nine individuals were rescued from a precarious vessel 40 miles off the coast by the Maritime Rescue service.

The occupants were transported to the port of Alicante, where the Red Cross activated the humanitarian aid protocol to assist them. All the dinghy's occupants are adult males and are reported to be in good health, according to sources from the humanitarian organisation.

The last dinghy rescued in the province of Alicante was on May 11, when 14 migrants aged between 17 and 62 (one of them a minor) were rescued. During May, four precarious vessels have been detected in the province of Alicante, with a total of 40 migrants attempting to reach the coast.
