Vocational training is highly sought after due to its employability. Securing a job shortly after completing a qualification is an attractive prospect in a highly competitive job market. According to the latest figures from the Ministry of Education, vocational training is a guarantee of employment. On average, nearly half (41.9%) of students who complete a higher-level vocational course find work within the first year. This figure pertains to graduates in the Valencian Community, slightly above the national average, rising to 61.5% after three years.
The report "Statistics of Vocational Training in the Educational System Edition 2024" by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, from which these figures are drawn, also identifies the professional fields with the highest affiliation rates once studies are completed. Information Technology and Communications, with an average affiliation rate of 73.9% after three years, tops the list, closely followed by Mechanical Manufacturing (72.9%) and Installation and Maintenance (72.8%). The fields of Electricity and Electronics (69.4%), as well as Transport and Vehicle Maintenance, also show high figures.
Despite this, the cycle with the highest employability is in the healthcare field, specifically Clinical Electromedicine, with an average affiliation rate of 77.4% after three years. It is followed by Web Application Development (76.1%), Multiplatform Application Development (75.8%), and Industrial Mechatronics (74%).
Nearly a fifth (18.2%) of all these affiliations in the Valencian Community occur in companies in the Trade and Vehicle Repair sector; 12.1% in Health and Social Services; 11.5% in Manufacturing; and close to 10% respectively in Information and Communications and Hospitality. Regarding company size, almost half (49.2%) had between 10 and 249 employees; 26% had fewer than 9; and the remaining 24.8% had more than 250 employees.
Although not significantly, Dual Vocational Training shows higher affiliation rates than Non-Dual: 65.2% for the former compared to 61.3% for the latter. This difference of just four points rises to over 12 in favour of Dual in the national average.
For medium-level vocational courses, the average affiliation rate in the Valencian Community is 54.6% after three years, and 25.7% after the first year; with the professional families of Energy and Water (70.5%) and Transport and Vehicle Maintenance (69.3%) being the most prominent. For Basic Vocational Training, affiliation rates drop to 40.5% after three years, and 9.3% one year after completing the qualification.
