Nearly One in Four Tram Travellers in Alicante Prefer It Over Their Own Car
27% of users state they prefer travelling by tram over other modes of transport

27% of Tram de Alicante users, more than one in four, claim they "enjoy" travelling on the metropolitan and "prefer" using the tram over other transport options, according to the results of the latest Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) for 2024. In fact, 23.1% of Tram passengers choose this transport system despite owning a private vehicle.

The main reason for travelling by Tram is the lack of a private vehicle (54.7%); followed by difficulties in finding parking (17.6%); and the absence of other public transport options (9.9%). The rest use the metropolitan for reasons such as proximity (7.7%), comfort (4.8%), speed (4.9%), and cost-saving (3.7%).

Regarding line transfers, 10.5% do make such journeys. The station with the most line change activity is Marq-Castillo (64.6%), followed by Luceros (20.9%), Benidorm (5.1%), Mercado (3.8%), and Lucentum (1.3%).
Service Evaluation
Users have rated the overall transport service provided by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) in the TRAM d'Alacant network at 8.54 out of 10, according to the results of the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) 2024.
The percentage of travellers who consider the service "satisfactory" is 94.4%. The percentage rating it as "normal" is 3.8%, and only the remaining 1.8% feel "dissatisfaction" with its operation.
The aspects of the service that received the highest ratings from customers are signage (9.12); station accessibility (9.11); train accessibility (9.10); price (9.01); and journey safety (9).
