The National Police have arrested a drug trafficker in Alicante carrying 18 kilos of hashish, 10 in a bag and eight hidden in the vehicle's compartment, according to TodoAlicante. The arrested, a 57-year-old Maghrebi citizen with a criminal record for drug trafficking and legal status in Spain, has been placed in provisional detention. The seized goods are valued at approximately 104,300 euros.

The 'Dragons' group, belonging to the North Police Station of the National Police of Alicante, had a house in the North Zone of the city under surveillance, suspecting drug trafficking activities.

During one of the surveillances, agents specialized in combating drug trafficking and organized crime observed a man who had parked his car in double file in front of the house and was handling a bag suspiciously.

The agents intercepted him and found 10 kilos of hashish inside the bag, valued at 60,000 euros. Given these facts, the suspect, a 57-year-old Maghrebi citizen, was arrested for drug trafficking, according to TodoAlicante.

The vehicle in which the detainee was traveling was seized and taken to the police station, where it was Venom's turn, a dog from the Alicante National Police Canine Guide Unit, who searched the car and found another shipment of hashish in the compartment, this time 8 kilos, valued at 50,300 euros, according to investigation sources.

Lucha contra el tráfico de drogas

The National Police's fight against drug trafficking in Alicante continues. One of the most striking operations, due to the time and type of establishment - a café - took place last April, when several National and Local Police vans appeared in broad daylight in front of the Alicante Provincial Auditorium (ADDA).

During the search, investigators found hashish and marijuana. Additionally, the Alicante Local Police dog found speed inside a plastic container. Once the narcotic substance was found, the agents proceeded to arrest three employees of the establishment.

Another recent action by the police was the anti-drug raid in a nightclub in the center of Alicante, which resulted in five arrests, 55 identified, and seven reports of possession of narcotic substances.

The inspection was carried out when agents from the Operational Response Group (Alteas) learned that drug trafficking might be taking place in a store located on Capitán Segarra Street.

After the search, investigators arrested five individuals, four men - three Spaniards and one Colombian - and a Bulgarian woman. The detainees were between 24 and 40 years old, and one of them worked as a waiter in this nightclub, according to this newspaper. During the inspection, agents found cocaine, tusi (pink cocaine), poppers, and methamphetamines.
