The storm that has bathed the province of Alicante in recent days has also been felt on the city's pirate island. Tabarca woke up this Wednesday with its streets turned into real rivers.

The Alicante archipelago has accumulated a total of 37.2 liters per square meter in the last 12 hours, according to Avamet. This figure makes the island of Tabarca the point with the most water - beyond the sea surrounding it - collected in the L'Alacantí region.

It was one of its residents who was surprised by the storm on Wednesday morning. Faced with the scene, she decided to take out her phone and capture the long-awaited moment.

Indeed, the traditional scene of the streets of the island of Tabarca in Alicante has completely changed. On the tiles where terraces are located and tourists stroll, only a river of water caused by the rain has been seen.

A large puddle remained in the middle of the street, as if it were a marker of the path leading out of the village. Moreover, it has been increased by the waterfalls formed from the roofs of the Tabarca houses.

The water collected by the downspouts and drains of the houses has formed multiple rainfalls in the houses of Tabarca, leaving a very different scene from what its residents and visitors are used to.

However, despite the storm, the temperatures have been mild. According to Avamet, the thermometer on the island of Tabarca stands at 21.3 degrees this Wednesday, similar to those at the end of spring and the beginning of summer.

After the rain episode, the sun peeked through this island of Alicante, leaving new scenes for the anecdotal day. Among them, a double rainbow that could be seen from all points of the smallest inhabited islet in the Community.

The reactions to the storm have been seen among the enthusiasts of Tabarca. Most of them have celebrated the arrival of the rain and the storm to the archipelago, while others have sounded the alarm, saying "Oh, the beautiful island is drowning" and "My goodness! Flooded."
