Who is Yakela Relabe? And, above all, why does she leave her books in bars? This has been the way to promote her new novel from anonymity. An initiative that has spread throughout the Spanish geography until reaching the city of Alicante, where she has also left several copies.
These are found in the Fahrenheit 451 bookstore on Taquígrafo Martí street in Alicante, where customers can find three copies, intended for reading, of the mysterious novel 'See You at the Bar'. The author does this to "give life to those words and not leave them orphaned".
Indeed, she also delivers her books in bars to return the favor. Yakela Relabe absorbed hundreds of spoken and lived stories in these establishments to recreate them later, through fiction, in this novel. All of them end with the phrase that gives the title to these volumes: 'See You at the Bar'.
Each of the stories leads the reader to Yakela's thoughts and anecdotes. After spending hours sitting in bars, she realized that they are places to share, to sit and observe what people do, and even to imagine the lives of each passerby. "After all, a portrait of the very life of each of us," she recounts.
Already in the synopsis of this book, it reflects that "perhaps these little stories were told by yourself," emphasizing that "any resemblance to your life is not a coincidence," as it may have been lived "with or without a bar counter, real or invented." Thus, feeling indebted to these places, she decided to undertake this action to expand her number of readers and make 'See You at the Bar' known.
The campaign started in Barcelona, where it spread to twenty bars and, after that, she decided to expand it throughout Spain, with a presence in Alicante. It is in the Fahrenheit bookstore where she has deposited three copies visible to all Alicante residents who want to know what happens beyond the tables and bars, with the intention of generating a dialogue among those seated there, which can continue with 'See You at the Bar'.
