Officer María Ángeles Hernández Gómez of the Mutxamel Local Police has been honoured with one of the Police Service Awards for Animal Protection, in the individual category. The recognition took place last Friday, 6th June, during the National Local Security Meeting at the SeguCITY event organised in Valladolid, as reported by the Town Hall in a statement.
This award specifically acknowledges the work of officers who, through their professional and ethical commitment, strive to integrate animal protection and welfare into their daily policing duties. In this case, the exemplary role of Officer Hernández Gómez has been highlighted, whose dedication has been crucial in establishing more humane, responsible interventions adapted to new social challenges.
The officer received the award accompanied by the Chief Inspector of the Mutxamel Local Police, Carlos Pomares Ramón. Her individual work is part of a broader institutional strategy: the Strategic Plan of the Mutxamel Local Police, which includes the creation of the Animal Protection Service, aimed at addressing specific actions related to the regulations on animal ownership and welfare.
