Mutxamel Launches New Waste Collection and Street Cleaning Service

Mutxamel's iconic Plaza de Sant Pere was the setting for the symbolic launch of the municipality's new waste collection and street cleaning service. The mayor, Rafael García Berenguer, along with the Councillor for Services and Maintenance, Gustavo Blasco, witnessed firsthand how the awarded company for this service for the next 10 years, STV Gestión, operates.

The company has commenced operations, ensuring that its goal is to make Mutxamel a cleaner and more sustainable municipality by incorporating more efficient and environmentally friendly machinery.

The mayor highlighted that "this new contract is the result of a hard and ambitious work process carried out by the department to significantly improve the service. In addition to the duration, which extends to ten years, it includes notable improvements in machinery and hours that will benefit the citizens who will enjoy a clean municipality. However, the involvement of the residents of Mutxamel is also necessary to collaborate in aspects such as recycling, selective collection, and the disposal of items at designated points, etc."

He also pointed out that "we are confident that the company STV, awarded this new service, will comply with the established terms and will make gradual and continuous investments over these ten years to improve the services."

The general director of STV Gestión, Juan Alcántara, also attended the launch and thanked the mayor and the Municipal Corporation for their trust. Alcántara stated that Mutxamel "is a benchmark municipality for us, and we have conveyed this to our team here, to which new members will be added to meet the expectations placed on us by the Corporation and the municipality."
