Musician Mario Vaquerizo to Announce the Start of Elche 2025 Festivities

Music will accompany the start of Elche's Patronal Festivities in 2025. On August 7, musician Mario Vaquerizo will be the announcer to kick off these celebrations. The mayor, Pablo Ruz, announced his appointment this Friday, with just two months to go before the people of Elche can enjoy the speech delivered from the Town Hall balcony, marking the beginning of the town's major days.

He is the vocalist of the musical group Nancys Rubias since 2004, a showman, and a radio and television collaborator. A charismatic, approachable, and humane person with a distinctive style and contagious energy. Additionally, he has a close relationship with Elche, as his wife, Alaska, has been an ambassador for Elche's pomegranate and was once registered in the town.

"Mario Vaquerizo will be the announcer for the Elche 2025 Festivities, a person known to all and even internationally recognized," noted the mayor, who thanked the Festivities Department for securing "an artist like Mario Vaquerizo to launch our festivities."

According to Ruz, "I think it's an incredible opportunity to continue putting Elche on the map of culture, celebration, and fun, all the good things that Spaniards are capable of doing."

Meanwhile, Aurora Rodil, third deputy mayor, expressed her delight at the choice of announcer, an artist we have known forever, and both he and Alaska have been part of our cultural heritage in our youth."

Inma Mora, the Festivities Councillor, noted that "today all the people of Elche express our joy knowing that Mario Vaquerizo will deliver the announcement, an enthusiastic, dedicated person who works with his heart on his sleeve and also has emotional ties to our town."
