In an increasingly connected world eager to explore, the travel booking platform Booking.com has unveiled its ranking of the world's ten most popular destinations to visit in 2025. The list, created from searches and bookings made on the site, reflects global travellers' trends and preferences.
Among destinations in Brazil, Italy, China, Japan, and the United States, an Alicante municipality known for the bright colours of its coastal houses, chocolate factories, 'el peixet de la bahia', the Bou Ferrer shipwreck, its crystal-clear beaches and coves, and the landing of the Moors and Christians festivals makes an appearance. We are talking about La Vila Joiosa.
This Thursday, January 23rd, Booking.com will recognise it as one of the top 10 trending global destinations, according to Booking.com's Travel Predictions 2025. A commemorative plaque will be awarded to the Town Hall of La Vila Joiosa for its outstanding positioning as a global destination of excellence.

Last December, the town in Marina Baixa created a virtual viewpoint to promote itself as a tourist destination. This promotional effort allows exploration of all corners of the municipality in an immersive way with 360º images.
Thanks to this virtual vantage point, users can view the city's most emblematic places and buildings, which are part of the historical and cultural heritage, such as the Tower of Sant Josep, the Tower of L'Aguiló, and the Tower of Malladeta, as well as the interior spaces of the church of Our Lady of the Assumption and the house of La Barbera dels Aragonés.
