José Vicente Anaya, the Director General of Socio-Sanitary Management of the Conselleria, visited Calp this morning to officially announce that the town, along with Benigánim and Alcora, has been selected as a pilot municipality for the implementation of the Unique Social History IT system.
This project, costing over 4 million euros and set to be implemented in all municipalities of the Valencian Community by the end of 2026, aims to unify health and social services records, creating a common space to reduce bureaucracy and enhance citizen services.
It is a tool that will facilitate the relationship between primary care and social care levels, aiming to ensure continuity and complementarity of interventions, thus providing better service to the public. The social history will enable healthcare and social services professionals to plan for diagnosis, design personalized social intervention plans, and individual care plans and diagnoses.
This IT system will share information and optimize the management of human and material resources, maximizing the efficiency of social and healthcare professionals by avoiding unnecessary repetitive tasks, obtaining existing information from the system, sharing information, etc. The goal of this system is to facilitate the coordination of all actions by professionals involved in social intervention processes and improve social care and other protection systems.
To initiate the project, three municipalities have been chosen, one from each province and from different population ranges. In the coming weeks, the implementation will begin with the training plan for the staff of the Social Services departments.
The mayor, Ana Sala, expressed gratitude for Calp's selection and added that "it will be an effort for the Social Services Department, but it is a challenge to be pioneers in a project like this that will improve citizen services and unify diagnoses. Calp will become a benchmark in social care."
José Vicente Anaya, the Director General of Socio-Sanitary Management, announced that "this is the start of something very significant, marking a before and after in the Social Services of the Valencian Community as it will allow for standardized diagnoses across the territory and achieve the most appropriate and personalized intervention. It enables the detection of vulnerability factors, monitoring of medication or benefits, data cross-referencing, etc. The system will provide data to plan social policies and showcase the reality of the Valencian Community."
Meanwhile, the Councillor for Social Services, Itziar Doval, highlighted that "this designation is a recognition of the work done by the Social Services Department of the Calp Town Hall, work that often goes unnoticed due to confidentiality requirements."
