Teulada-Moraira, a town in Alicante, is set to tighten control over motorhome parking due to a "growing issue" with the "massive use of public parking and private land" for camping, and the detection of "possible illegal discharges" that could harm the environment.
Simultaneously, the Town Council has begun proceedings to "adapt" the municipal ordinance on this matter, aiming to provide the Local Police with "greater legal tools to act more effectively" against these practices and even impose penalties "when necessary".
Additionally, frames will be installed at the entrances of municipal parking lots to limit the maximum height of vehicles that can access these areas. The aim is to "ensure" that parking spaces "are used according to their original purpose".
In a statement, the town's mayor, Raúl Llobell, noted that these measures aim to ensure "appropriate use of public spaces where all types of vehicles can coexist legally, respectfully, and with environmental preservation in mind".
With this, the Teulada-Moraira Town Hall reiterates its "commitment to order and sustainability in the municipality, promoting measures that encourage responsible mobility and equitable use of common spaces". It also reminds users that there are specific and regulated areas for parking, camping, and necessary motorhome services, urging them to "respect the current regulations".
