In Spain, the motorcycle and light vehicle sector concluded the first half of 2025 with a very positive outcome, recording a total of 124,269 registrations, marking a 5.5% growth compared to the same period last year.
In June alone, the acceleration was even more remarkable, with a 20.4% increase and a total of 27,342 units sold, according to data from the National Association of Two-Wheel Sector Companies (Anesdor).
Motorcycles are leading this trend, accumulating 112,880 registrations in the first half, a 6.6% increase from 2024. June was an exceptional month for them, with 24,908 units registered and a growth of 20.4%.
When analysed by type of use, scooters were the main protagonists, with a 12.6% increase reaching 62,660 units in the first half. Road motorcycles also experienced a growth of 3.5%, reaching 47,910 units. However, off-road motorcycles registered a significant decline of 42.1%, remaining at 2,258 registrations.

Regarding distribution channels, the private channel was the growth engine, with a 7.7% increase and 97,707 motorcycles acquired by individual users. It was followed by the business channel, which grew by 3% with 13,132 units. The rental channel, however, showed negative figures, with a 16% decline to 2,041 registrations.
On the other hand, mopeds remain stable with 5,752 units so far this year, registering a slight growth of 0.2%. Like motorcycles, June was a standout month for them, with a 27.6% growth and 1,285 registrations, with the private channel predominantly driving these sales.
The rest of the vehicles in the L category also present varied data. Heavy quadricycles grew by 19% in the semester (2,978 units), while tricycles and light quadricycles experienced declines of 32.6% (1,282 units) and 19.1% (1,377 registrations), respectively. In June, heavy and light quadricycles closed positively, while tricycles showed a decline.
At the regional level, the Valencian Community led the accumulated growth for the year (+20.2%), followed by Asturias (+13.8%) and Ceuta and Melilla (+13.4%). In the ranking by volume of registered units, Catalonia (26,764 units), Andalusia (26,587), and the Valencian Community (16,188) were at the forefront, with Valencian figures reflecting the replacement of vehicles affected by the DANA.
