Alicante bets on sustainable mobility and accessibility, and the city responds. More than 2,000 Alicante residents have participated in various activities of the European Mobility Week, organized by the Department of Urban Mobility, which had its main event this Sunday, September 22, with the Coastal Bike Path between Puerta del Mar Square and the Cantera Greenway.
The morning session saw a large participation of families with bicycles and personal mobility vehicles who were able to enjoy a large space next to the bay of Alicante, advocating for accessibility and sustainable mobility.
Throughout the week, various workshops were held for bicycle maintenance and scooter handling, as well as walking tours around the city, a treasure hunt around the Torres de la Huerta, or the Bike School to promote bicycle use among secondary school students, all with the support of the Local Police. The events will continue next Sunday, the 29th, with Bike Day organized by Cadena 100.

He also highlights the implementation of Alicante 30 on single-lane one-way streets, as well as the development of cyclist routes in new urban developments, the commitment to electromobility in renewing the urban bus fleet, and the implementation of low-emission zones.
