Alicante is already thinking about Christmas. With the installation of lights, which can already be seen in the city center and neighborhoods like Princesa Mercedes, the City Council is also planning the Three Kings Parade and has opened the project competition period to contract its organization.
For the new year 2025 and the following two years, the Department of Festivities has drafted new guidelines for the city's most magical parade. These guidelines show an increase in the budget, reaching 540,000 euros with an allocation of 180,000 euros -70,000 euros more than in the previous annual competition- for each of the three years, and also more sweets, with 2,000 kilos more than in past editions of the parade.
Among other new features, the new contract for organizing the Christmas event -which concludes activities for this special season- includes the royal messengers' parade, scheduled for Saturday, January 4th, a day before Their Majesties' parade through Alicante's main streets.

As usual, Alicante's Three Kings Parade will feature three trains that will make up the parade: recreational, biblical, and commercial. The first two will include floats, entertainment groups, music bands, ballets, collas de nanos i gegants with dolçaina i tabal, as well as large-scale shows with their own lighting and sound. The biblical part will include five biblical scenes as usual, two proposed by the City Council: 'The Birth of Jesus' and 'The Star' -where beauty queens will ride along with their dames d'honor-, and the rest chosen by the contractor representing biblical sequences.
This train will be closed by six floats accompanying the three Kings: one main float for each of them and another auxiliary float carrying gifts, sweets, and members of the royal entourage. The Municipal Symphonic Band will parade with Baltasar, while Melchior and Gaspar will have groups proposed by the contractor and ballets. Following them will be the commercial train, consisting of ten to fifteen floats for sponsors. They will provide toys, gifts, sweets or other items to offer to attendees gathered on chairs and sidewalks.

Likewise, new guidelines for organizing Alicante's Three Kings Parade specify that over the next three years, the contractor must provide at least 5,000 kilos of soft gluten-free sweets—an increase of 2,000 kilos compared to recent editions. This amount will be distributed among biblical trains from which 3,000 kilos will be thrown and from institutional floats of the City Council. Regarding toys, 2,000 units will be thrown from these floats.
The contract specifies that at least 5.000 PVC chairs must be placed along the official route of Alicante's Three Kings Parade. The maximum sale price of seats will be four euros including VAT. Each person or entity can purchase a maximum of eight chairs.
An online chair sales point will be set up for which 60% of seats will be reserved; another physical sales point will handle remaining 40%. This latter point will be centrally located in Alicante. Advance sales will take place from 10 AM on December 26 until 8 PM on January 2.
