Nearly a thousand Hércules fans accompanied Hércules CF this Sunday in Yecla. Surely, they will remember more the excellent Yeclano gazpacho and the company than the match.
The Yeclano-Hércules did not deceive anyone. It was known what it could be and it was confirmed. A duel of endless disputes and aerial balls in which the defenses completely dominated the attacks.
Not even the expulsion of Alicante's Víctor Olmedo ten minutes from the end allowed Hércules to have chances to win the match.
Only two controversial actions, one for each team, could have changed the outcome of the point-sharing at La Constitución. But, in both, the referee decided that the game should continue.
The Hércules fans claimed a clear penalty on Nico Espinosa in the only attacking overflow action by Torrecilla's team throughout the match. Olmedo seems to trip him from behind inside the area. The Murcians also claimed their own in the second half with a header and a possible handball by Montoro inside the area.
The weight of the match was carried by Yeclano. If it were a boxing match, they would have won the bout, but Hércules defended better than in Algeciras and came out focused from the initial whistle.

“Seven points from the last nine. I see the point in Yecla as good. We have not lost our identity in a very complicated field, where we had to be very focused throughout the match”

Yeclano was led by Olmedo in every set piece. In the second half, the dominance of the locals intensified, but Carlos Abad went to the locker room without sweating and without having to intervene in almost any action.
The atmosphere was spectacular from start to finish. Clear aroma of a historic English football field. However, the ball reminded of nightmares experienced on artificial turf in these last in 2nd RFEF.
Hércules settles the two consecutive outings with a good number of points: 4. Now it's time to make them good in the next two matches at Rico Pérez, where the team is much more entertaining to watch and more reliable. Atlético B and Marbella are next.
